"Every step you take supports teens struggling with mental health issues"

Sponsoring a teen mental health 5k run is an opportunity to invest in the well-being of our future generation. By supporting this event, sponsors contribute to raising awareness about mental health issues among adolescents, fostering a culture of openness and support. Funds raised go directly to providing resources and support services for teens struggling with mental health challenges, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need to thrive. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people and create a community where mental health is prioritized and supported.

Why Participate: Teenagers and Mental Health

Reasons for paying more attention to our teens today!
According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%.
Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders among teens. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reports that in 2020, an estimated 13.3% of adolescents aged 12 to 17 experienced at least one major depressive episode.
Anxiety disorders are also prevalent among teenagers. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) reports that anxiety disorders affect 25.1% of children between 13 and 18 years old.
Suicide is a leading cause of death among adolescents. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide was the second leading cause of death for individuals aged 10 to 24 in 2019, with rates increasing over the past decade.
Unfortunately, many teens do not receive the mental health treatment they need. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reports that in 2020, only 30.5% of adolescents with a major depressive episode received treatment for depression.
