Board Chair and Governance
Hello my name is Lisa A. Lugo-Manns. I come from “the Bronx” of New York. My parents were Catholic and I attended Catholic school. I have had the honor of always knowing God and having him in my heart since childhood. I went to church, communion and so on. I knew that God loved me but it wasn’t until I was much older that I understood the depth of his mercy, grace and forgiveness. I have to say I was very fortunate to be raised by parents that feared God all their lives, it is because of them that I am who I am, even thru all the family dysfunction. My dream was to help people but I did not know in which area. When my brother contracted AIDS I found my passion. My brother’s death gave me life. I became a Social Worker for families, children and permanency planning, back then there wasn’t a medication that controlled the disease so we always dealt with death and doing permanency planning for the kids. This gave me a chance to speak about the Love that Jesus had for them prior to them dying. It was then I decided to bring Social Work in the Jails and Prisons within the State of FL. My relationship with Jesus continues to strengthen me and it is thru Jesus that today I attend Maranatha Pentecostal Church. I have worked on several different ministries within the past few years. I worked on Congregational Care at Save the Nations, I worked on Outreach Ministries at Flamingo Road and what I have to say is that each time God has taken me to another church there was growth and pulling of my expertise. I currently attend the Multi-Cultural Theological Institute under the Assembly of God. I intend to take the Word of God and use it to help victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence. I serve on the Outreach Ministry at Maranatha under Brother Ivan and Sister Jeanette. I conduct Morning Devotions through Facebook Live, each weekday. Throughout my professional and personal experiences I have had the opportunity of always helping people with housing hence I have become a Realtor. I am a Social Worker and a Realtor following the path that God has placed in front of me. I look forward to bringing my expertise to House of Protection as I continue to grow in the Word of God and seek him in all I do. God Bless You.
